GPS map exemplar

This is our first shot at creating a map that contains GPS coordinates of research sites we have worked on in our Outdoor Science Class at Kihei Charter School. In a perfect world we would like to create an interactive map that would give information about a particular research site when you scrolled over the GPS coordinates on the map. So far, I've had a hard time figuring out how to put all the pieces together. Any ideas?
